Title: Angry D8
Post by: BobbyHurley on January 28, 2004, 09:40:48 PM
Having problems with a borrowed D8:

1) I put fresh AA's in and the deck powers up.
2) I eject and insert a new tape and close the door
3) The deck whines agrily for a few seconds.
4) I hit FF and the deck whines ... LOAD flashes ... resets back to 0:00:00
5) I hooked it up to the rig (7 pin in) and tried to get it into REC/pause and it does the same crap ... LOAD flashes ... resets to 0:00:00

I took the batteries out and hooked it up to my ECO ... same deal.

Is this a problem with the transport? Has this ever happened to anyone else? It has not been sued since 10/21/03 at which time it worked flawlessly.

Any ideas, short of calling Plotnick?

Might just be a bad tape - have you tried it with a different tape?
