Title: "the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error"
Post by: Big Muff on March 16, 2007, 10:22:41 AM

that's a new one on me.
yesterday that was the message i got when i turned on my ihp-120.
it sat on the desk unused for about a month. i plugged it in, and bing, your shit is fuct.
well it would recognize the drive just wouldn't let me in...curious.
So i plugged it into a usb on the rear of the pc. no problemo.
there just appears to be some issue with the 3.5" bay on the front.
everything else works ok on it, just not the 120.

anyone ever experience something like this before?

cheers!
-Mike

sounds like a disk problem....

things to try:
- scandisk (from the pc)
- copy rockbox again on it and clear the settings (hold rec while RB starts iirc)
- if all fails, backup the contens and reformat it.
- if that still fails, maybe the connection of the usb daughterboard is broken, resolder it (or find someone who can do that for you)

good luck
Peter
