By HD standards that's cheap, pretty much bottom of the line (except maybe for the HC1 or whatever its called). Hell, a Varicam would cost you $100K, or a really solid lens for a Betacam would run 10-20 times what that thing costs. LOL!

I got the HC1 a few months back.  I recorded my Amsterdam trip but I really want to tape a concert, looks like I might get Murder By Death and Les Claypool shows, maybe mono and pelican if I feel like staying a weekend in Minneapolis but I don't have a good enough comp to edit HD footage yet.

Bought my HC1 at the end of November 2005 and road tested it in the UK and Greece with Mastodon, high on fire and Bloodsimple all shot beautifully in 1080i
Begn filming again as of May this year after a nasty car wreck getting alot of national club touring.
clips downconverted to share online streaming at google video but I did UL a Nottingham UK Mastodon gig in 720p WMV to the torrent world a few months ago.
HDV is pretty bomb >:D

I'm ordering this cam in a few days.  How has it been since you've gotten it?

I would stay away from any of these wanna be hd cams... they are horrible in low light.... you would be much better off getting a 3 chip SD cam....

the footage you get esp from low light isn't great at all.... but if anyone is interested I have a Sony HVR A1J that will be on ebay very soon
