Title: utorrent 1.6 bug?
Post by: kskreider on August 06, 2006, 02:57:52 AM
I don't know if it is the program or my ISP.  I switched from SBC's DSL Pro tp DSL Elite about 2 weeks ago.  I noticed the past couple of days that my utorrent (1.6) will fire right up and crank away for about 20-30 seconds and then all the bandwidth chokes off.  Torrents, port 80 (http), IM, etc.  Everything.  I can close the program and let it sit for about 5 minutes before starting it back up.  It fires up fine, but then chokes off again.  I tried switching ports, no luck.  Then I switched over to ABC and my torrents are running fine again.  Anyone know if 1.6 has a bug of some kind?

I read similar complaints over on the pleasuredome forums (for video game emulation.. not porn you pervert)   Most people switched back to the previous 1.5.437 version and have had no complants.

I haven't noticed any problems with 1.6.  if there are I'm sure he'll work em out fast and release an upgrade.

I've seen some weird stuff like you describe in the "initial seed" mode.  Turning that off seems to restore my bandwidth.
