new MME>Laptop ??
« on: February 19, 2003, 02:57:29 PM »
Okay, so i got everything up & runnin' @ 16/48 via Soundforge 6.0 & wavelab 4.0 flawlessly.  However when i switche the ASIO in wavelab to 24 bit it crashes.  & when i do the same in soundforge the meters just read like there clipping constantly.  Here's what i'm runnin' any suggestions.  (i'm guessing it's the lack of RAM)

Dell Latitude LS
Pentium III
128 RAM

try re-installing the Mini Me driver you D/Led from Apogee's site.

defrag the HD, and optimize your system for Audio.

it's possible that you're right, but i'd try everything else first.  then if still having troubles, get more RAM.

thing that troubles me the most is that Wavelab crashes going into 24 bit mode.  sounds like the Driver needs to be re-installed.

I agree that the driver is the first thing you should look into.  Make sure you have the latest one from apogee.

Just out of curiousity, what OS are you running?

This probably isn't an OS issue since you're successfully doing 16-bit but I'd recommend upgrading to win2k if possible.  Much more stable.

Thanks guys, that was a big help.  I defragmented the drive & reinstalled the drivers.  & now everything is kosher with wavelab.  Soundforge still isn't lockin' on @ 24/48, it's giving a constant 12db on both channels.  But a big thanks.  K.

I set mine up using SF 5.0 with no problems.  Perhaps the 6.0 version may need an update.  I guess if Wavelab is working @ 24/48, stick with that.  I think that gives you more options for recording than SF anyways.

Good Luck,
Dan
