I doubt there's any way to salvage the recording at this point.  I'm guessing phantom issue as well, sounds similar to recordings I've heard in which the mics are waaaay underpowered.  Have you tested the gear to identify with which device in the recording chain the problem lies?

As odd as it sounds, I think that it might have been the battery that I handed to TJ that went directly into the PS unit.

Very likely.  Glad you haven't had troubles since then.

Since the time that we made that recording I have acquired a JB3 and a PDAudio set up

Two recorders?  Must buy...more...gear...  :lol:
