One of my archiving favorites lately is MD5summer
i use this to make an md5 for each wav and this puts the md5 on the 72 HD so when i transfer the 24-bit files to the PC, i can verify after transferring
but for everything else, i use mkwact, just because its more widely used and when i make an md5 w/ md5summer and try to verify w/ mkwact, i miss an md5 summer file, and that makes me anal
but md5summer is a sweet app, even tho its substantially slower than mkwact
That's because MD5 Summer puts a ridiculous line at the top of each MD5 that reads "Created by MD5 Summer", and then skips a line before the actual MD5 contents...leading to MKW, xACT, etc. giving you an error message everytime.
