Audacity + FrogMeter for mac
« on: November 16, 2006, 10:10:26 AM »
Are these 2 apps together good for doing 24bit recording in the field from a ua-5? frogmeter looks much nicer than the audacity built in meters.

Not sure what you like about the Frogmeter meters better, but you can undock the Audacity level meters from the toolbar and stretch them out for better granularity (see attached).

Just click on the Meters toolbar thingie (not sure what to call it, see attached) and drag it off the default toolbar space.  Then re-size as desired.

Forgot to mention - it's a bit screwy re-docking the toolbar, you can't just drag it back (dumb, I know).  Right-click the undocked toolbar, and select Disable.  Then go to Preferences | Interface and tick the Enable Meter Toolbar checkbox.

Your 24/16bit workflow post about audacity is very helpful too brian. I think I will use Audacity almost exclusively now.
