audacity - where has the input volume meter gone???

im just doing an analogue transfer and for some reason the input volume meter bar isnt there. seems a bit odd as i managed to view it last time i opened audacity.

any ideas?

on a Mac... but probably the same on Windows
go to View... on the pull down you have the choice of
either Float or Dock Meter Toolbar

if you choose Float it will remove it from the Dock
which is on the top of the file's window

you can also disable the VU meters
but a dialog box will come up and warn you first

thanks for the advice. seems i somehow disabled the meters...doh!
