Title: 9v Rechargables
Post by: blu666z on September 24, 2003, 03:39:14 PM
Anybody using rechargable 9v?  I am so happy with my PwerEx AA, I have decided to switch all my batteries to rechargables.

I don't go through many 9v since it is only in my battery box but thought it might be worth a look.

I was wondering the same thing...can rechargeable 9volt batteries be counted on to provide power to akg b18 phantom power boxes?

each b18 takes two 9v batteries

anyone have any thoughts on this

I've used a rechargable 9v NiCD to power my PS2 a few times, but near the end of that run, I started getting low battery lights about 1.5 hours into the show. It started to make me nervous, so now I only use the PS2 sparingly, and usually just normal alkaline 9v batteries.

FYI, different rechargable 9v batts have different voltages.  I recommend getting one that is at least 9v, preferably more.  The two most common voltages when I looked a year or so ago:  8.4v and 9.6v.  Apparently, there are some new 9.4 now, as well.

When I purchased mine, I couldn't find a float charger.  Big mistake.  I've since fried all my rechargable 9vs by overcharging.  I believe the newer chargers float-charge, though, so hopefully this isn't an issue anymore.

I've been very happy with all my purchases from these folks:
