Title: Mobile video app with external TC slave - why doesn't this exist?
Post by: voltronic on June 25, 2019, 07:45:17 AM
I see plenty of iOS and Android apps out there for TC generation or note taking, but what I really want is a video recording app that will slave to external TC.  I realize that most people wanting TC sync for video are using a "real" camera, but it seems like this shouldn't be that difficult to do.

Would the TCS' Ultrasync Blue help you out?
It will sync the iPhone over bluetooth from its very accurate TC generator?

I run the Ultrasync One for my camera/audio syncing but I have never tested their Blue model.

OK, so it does exist!  Thanks for the recommendations, but I am an Android user, so I'll keep looking.

In general, there are a lot of applications with post-processing.
Try searching here https://appelse.com/stop-motion-film-video-app-for-android/

Thanks, but I don't see timecode as an option in any of those.

What's the reason for needing it to be Android? If you're giving out phones to people to film with casually, then an iPod Touch also works with the same software and can be just as cheap as a cheap Android phone is.
