Title: car stereo wiring harness adapter?
Post by: Lil Kim Jong-Il on August 05, 2007, 08:57:44 PM
Some of you guys must know about car audio.  I'm out of ideas.  None of the other forums I know yielded any info and google has not been my friend.  None of the auto system sites I know of list anything that fits a car this old.

I'm looking for a wiring harness adapter so that I can install an aftermarket in-dash CD player into a 1986 porsche 911.  I refuse to cut or splice into the existing harness so I need something that fits the factory connector that plugs into the back of a Blaupunkt Monterey.  I don't want to take the connector out of the existing unit because I want to be able to restore the vehicle to stock form.

Any ideas?

I used pieces from an Erector set back in HS to put my stereo in my old car.

probably not the most secure idea.

+T and Thank you!  I've tried several times in the past and never found that place.

Sweet car. Always loved the 911 throughout it's production years.

I'd love to drive a turbo sometime.

I grew up loving the 914s and wanted a 356 but when I was ready to buy I didn't have a garage and I couldn't bring myself to keep a 356 parked in the weather even with a cover.  So I got the '86.  It's been a great car and stays in the garage now most of the time.
