I just bought some Sennheiser mke2's.  I might go to the toy store and buy a nerf ball.  Not sure how well the nerf ball works as compaired to a j-disc

Here is a link to a DIY jecklin for under $15. I made this one first then added my own details after I saw some others jdisc.
Peace

they're really easy to make, I have zero skills and I managed to make one.

the most difficult part was finding decent foam for the core, otherwise it's just 20 minute worth of cutting, glue, and patience.

I got everything from a Pearl craft store, except for the foam which I got from the trash at work. (I don't know where to buy foam, I'd try to find some being tossed somewhere since it's wasteful refuse otherwise).

I'd like to have a more creatively done one at some point with threads on the bottom so I could just mount it directly on my mic stand, but I don't know where to get any sort of a mount I could attach to it so I'm fine with my ghetto version as-is.  (not like anyone notices in the dark).

You can borrow mine Stigs.  I rarely use it as I don't have small condenser omnis anymore.  Razorback did a great job on it.

Hey superdave ya gotta make one for your TL's. I tried my Tl's the first time w/ jdisc and I liked it a lot even though the crowd was kinda noisy. This weekend I am goin' to run blumlein for the first time w/ my home made boom. I'll post pics after.
Peace

dmaster,
i built 1 for my SP C4s:
I used some very thin plywood (1/16") for the center w/ foam on both sides, etc.
for mounting to my stand I took a plain old swiviling mic clamp, unscrewed the clamp from the base (the swivel) stuck the plywood in  the base and witrh a few washers put the screw back in and it was ready to mount.
The plywood was a 12" square and I attached the mic clamp base about 2" in from one edge.

For my set up I screwed the jdisc onto the thread from the stand that was sticking up after screwing on an AKG swivel t-bar. Now the tbar and jdisc are a nice unit

p.s. the jdisc worked great for orchestra recording

As someone who is totally blind, not to mention a bit lazy, I'll gladly pay someone the necessary cash for materials, time/effort, and postage to Ontario Canada, if they're willing to do a nice job making me one.

It would need to work with the Core Sound Omni's, which have mini alligator clips attached to them. It would also need a microphone stand mount.  PM or email me if interested. thanks.
