Topic: Which AKG CK 6* caps for the Naiant actives

Well I've taken the plunge on some AKG actives from Jon and now need to order some caps. I currently hide mics about my person about 5'8" off the floor and use two rigs at the same time, ca14s cards and omnis. I have some ca11 series II omnis due any day, so figure I should concentrate on the cards or hypers for now.

I mainly tape loud rock in 1500 - 3000 capacity venues but also more intimate pub type venues and occasionally 13000 capacity cavernous arenas. I'm not adverse to stack taping but try to find the right spot DFC when I can.

Also is it worth investing in a mount bar to aid mic placement? Are they small enough to conceal along with the mics.

Get some CK63 for indoors (which is the best hypercard out there), and CK61's for outdoors.

this should give you some idea how big they are (approx 2 1/2") WITHOUT the binders which will add another 1 1/8" or so to the length

Are you guys also recommending the CK63 for the "intimate pub type venues" the OP mentioned?  Or just the larger venues?  I tape at small clubs and I think I've used my CK63 caps just once, at a long narrow venue where I was at the back.

I use hypers everywhere even stage lip. But now that I have mk21 subcards I use those stage lip now. Hypers tonight in a long and narrow venue
