Looking to pick up a pair of stands for my Yamaha HS80M and ran across
these as I was looking at the typical wood/steel stands. I've not seen these
before now, read very little about them, but sure seems like a solid design
at this point.
I've looked at some wood stands plus isolation pads and I'd easily be at the
$100 price point so these seems like the best of both worlds and then some.
This seems to be the most available model ISO-L8R155 but according to this
chart (http://www.isoacoustics.com/files/chart.pdf) (http://www.isoacoustics.com/files/chart.pdf)) I'd need a set of the
ISO-L8R200 wihch are supposedly due out in September of 2012.
I've read some folks are using a pair of the 155's for each larger moitor, but
have to wonder how much the 200's will cost. Suppose I could do doubles
on the 155's and sell them when the 200's come out, assuming the 200's are
not insanely priced.

Thoughts?

Looks cool, but a bit over kill, these can be had for $30 at guitar center and less if you do some poking around: http://www.auralex.com/sound_isolation_mopad/sound_isolation_mopad.asp
They do the same thing, and leave ya some cash for tickets too.

I've seen those pads, but I also need stands, which are at least $65 for
what I need plus cash for pads. So, these seem reasonable.

Well if you need stands then maybe thats a good option. I bought a set of the On Stage Stands from Guitar Center on sale for $60, and they have a set of rubber pads glued to the tops plates so I didnt need anything else, and I am qite happy with them. I didnt see those were stands too, all the adds looked like a desk top solution. Good luck!

I suppose they really are a desktop solution (which is what I need)
and the 12" height increase is near perfect for my DAW. Adding tilt
and isolation to the equation seems like an all-in-one. I'll likely pick
up a set. I shot sweetwater an email asking about the 200's.

Here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PEFOTI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00) is another workable option for desktop speaker stands by Wood Technologies. You'd still need isolation something like Primeacoustic's recoil stabilizers (http://www.primacoustic.com/recoil.htm) etc. unless you already have isolation.

I was looking at those (taller and black). The cheapest I could find was $65.
I also need isolation.
