OK, I took some quick and dirty promo footage of a band I play with, using 2 cameras, a digital camera and my cell phone. I also recorded audio with my Zoom. I'd forgotten that the digital camera is not widescreen, and so now I have one image that is wider than the other. One has a frame size of 720x1280, and the other turned out to be 480x640. When I have them synced up in Vegas, the 720 one is obviously wider and sticks out behind the smaller 480 image when I cut to that source. This is just for promotional purposes and doesn't have to be a big image when I finally render it, and so I'm fine with simply cutting off the sides of the larger source. How should I adjust my project so that the two sources are the same aspect ratio? I've been messing around with PAR and various settings, but can't seem to get them to fit together. Either one source is squished, or one is sticking out from behind the other.
Also, on two of the 480 segments, somehow I dicked up the recording setting and filmed at 15 f/s, and they play back at double spped. I figure that it must be possible to re-render the individual segments so that they play back at a normal rate before I insert them into the project. How can I slow them down when rendering to an intermediate file? Thanks.
