things you can do in a house...
« on: March 15, 2009, 03:54:01 PM »
Listen at concert volume  ;D

"How could you know that I lived in a desperate world?
How could you dream that we were all made out of stone?
What is the truth, what is the faithful lasting proof?
What is the central theme to this everlasting spoof?

Knock on my windows, link up the chains
It's gotta be easy, no splinters no pain
It's Cadillac rainbows and lots of spaghetti
And I love meatballs so you better be ready..."

Shaking the foundation today, loudest I've ever listened to my stereo. So glad to be in a single family residence
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

Nice, isn't it?  I can listen full volume in the late fall / winter / early spring, but once I open up the windows for fresh air -- have to keep it under control, since I'm in a standard city plot (~25-30' wide) and could shake hands with my neighbors if we leaned out our kitchen windows.  Still, love it.

Great to come home and immediately roll it at life-like volume.  I sometimes walk out to the street to check if the windows are open.

Yep!

I live in a house now, and the basement holds my stereo and my guitar amp. So nice to crank the shit out of it every once in a while.

I do have roomie's so I also have a decent set of cans in case I need to keep the sound levels to a minimum.

I've been considering moving into my own place. I can't afford a whole house, so I'd have to move into an apt. The lack of noise making is keeping me in my current house (even though I'd sure enjoy my own place for certain situations).

Enjoy the house Tim. You may have inspired me to stay put (at least for a little longer).

One of the biggest benefits of home living besides the mortgage interest write-off. VOLUME!

When I lived in an apartment in my early 20s, I had my landlord complain about the loud music and had a visit by the local police department.  :(

In the photo I own 6 1/3 acres in the upper left from the intersection of Sora Rd & Ranchero Rd. I can crank it as loud as I want.

Sora Road winds west about 1/4 mile west and ends next to a sink hole. We used to have big parties down there with two or three local bands. Sadly we all sobered up and just aren't as fun anymore ... but not as embarrassing either! I do miss the parties.

I live in an Apartment over a Beer distributor.

No neighbors. I have a photo business to the left and a commuter lot to the right.

The GF keeps the volume in check tho. I don't get loud when they are open downstairs but they close about 7PM
