Hi,
Here is a picture of a low profile mic stand. I canĀ“t tell you the manufacturer or date of purchase.
Can anybody say is there these kind of mic stands available somewhere or maybe know the manufacturer?

not sure of that brand but you can search
B&H's taple top and mini tripod
's 186 results
also check their back light stands; many have removable bases which you could then use as a very short tripod - this
Impact 2section back light stand
is one example

More along the lines of your original pic is this
Beyer mic stand base
* which is slightly different. You would need to put some sort of mounting stud but it would still be a low-rise stand.
*not my auction and the seller has had this listed multiple times, sometimes with a lower price so maybe the seller would take a lower offer

This AKG stand
is more what you are looking for, I have one but prefer it had a 3/8" thread instead of the bulky US standard 5/8".

You could also try a Manfrotto 003 (
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/546481-REG/Manfrotto_003_003_Backlight_Stand_Black.html
). It comes with a stud for very low use (maybe four or five inches) or can be combined with a pole (such as a Manfrotto 122B) to get more height. One advantage of this set-up is that you can also use the poles with a clamp...

That low profile stand is used to hold Sennheiser MKH70/816 in tv sports broadcasts. It's very lightweight and robust and it doesn't collapse very easily during strong wind conditions. (AND the most important thing, it keeps the mic down enough not to cover those important sponsor signs at the field)
Thanks everyone, I'll have to check out light stand bases with 3/8" thread.
