Topic: Powering a Sonosax (9v's) How Long???

Anybody know how long a Sonosax will last on 2 9v batteries? Will it be possible to get 6 straight hours on 1 set of batteries? I normally use Duracell's.

If you're ever on the Oade forum, hit up dwonk with this question. He runs a SX-M2. I actually borrowed it from him a couple of times. It seems to me that he said not to try for more than 2 hours on one set of batteries. This time may be extended if using lithiums, but that is purely speculation.

i owned an SXM2 for a while earlier this year, and borrowed one extensively a few years back.  6 hours is very doable on a set of duracell 9v cells.  if i recall correctly the low battery indicator kicked in at about 5hrs 30 minutes?

in any case, i second the motion for powerex rechargeable cells.

and also fwiw, i sold the sxm2 for an mp2, which i love dearly.  feed the mp2 two 2200 powerex AA cells and it runs at least 8 hours!  never had the chance to test it beyond that point.

Well I never got 5-6 hours out of a pair of regular duracells, ymmv ... I have been using these suckers Ultralife Lithium 9 Volt Batteries http://www.ulbi.com/index.asp , kinda pricey, but they do last much longer than 6 hours, good luck !

ditto on the Ultralife lithiums!!  i've ran my Beyer MV-100 w/Phantom for approximately 10hrs on a pair.  i believe they are still good to go, but haven't had the opp to run my preamp longer lately.
