Topic: Will long XLR cables affect current draw for battery-supplied phantom power?

Here's a question:

I'm going to be taping Los Lobos this coming Friday night at SLO Brew and I've borrowed a set of 50 foot XLR cables to run in between my Neumann KM-140s and my Beyer MV-100 preamp. The preamp runs on two nine-volt batteries to supply the phantom power for the microphones. Will the battery life be diminished because of the extra resistance from the long span, or is it negligible? (The band wants a board tape for their vaults and will allow an audience recording to be made for the general public. I always hang my Neumanns from the front center ceiling post when taping from the audience there, but the board is alongside the left wall. I'm going to try to run the XLR cables back to the board area so I can have both DAT recorders in the same place, (And also protect my electronics by not having them on the floor.)
