ian stone is who you need to talk to. i dont recall seeing him around much/at all anymore???

his buddy made them, but i think they would only do them if there were like 10-15 people who wanted them

when i had my vx pocket, that dongle was sooo perfect. i dont think i could own a vx pocket now w/out clipping all the cables i wasnt using off!

i bet if you guys got all the guys who grabbed these vx pocket 440s together you might have enough to justify that guy making a batch

BUT it did take like 3 months to get it

I got one of those 440's off ebay too and would love to have it modified for coax only. Count me in if someone takes this project on.

im not sure if anyone here could do it. it requires some specialized soldering tools and abilities to make those dongles!

i agree with Dustin.  I still have my vx pocket and the dongle ian made and it's way better than that factory one.  If i were you guys i would get a hold of ian and see if you had enough people if his buddy would make some more

i can do it,
i think my buddy has already ordered some parts as i've gotten a good # of emails over the past couple months looking for them

They wind up costing about $45 each incl. parts and labor

i bet if you guys got all the guys who grabbed these vx pocket 440s together you might have enough to justify that guy making a batch

BUT it did take like 3 months to get it

true, but was it worth the wait? That's the question....

ian stone is who you need to talk to. i dont recall seeing him around much/at all anymore???

yeah unfortunately my new job doesnt allow me to fuck off all day long on these message boards, and quite frankly i have better things to do w/ my evenings ;) ;) ;)

but i do miss this place!!!

anyone's interested - shoot me an email.

Thanks,
Ian Stone

YES ian, they were incredibly worth the wait. the only reason it took that long was because i got in right after the first batch, and had to wait for a bunch of other people to get in so he could do another batch. and i believe there were some hassles with parts not arriving also fwiw

it comes complete, you end up with 2 dongles for it, so you get to keep the one with all the inputs/outputs

I know this is kind of off-topic, but what was the name of the company (person) selling the 440's on ebay for so damn dirt cheap? I knew I should have grabbed one. I got a v2 a few weeks prior and decided to hold off. Now I want both. *shoots foot*

Thanks

Martin

i wouldnt see why it wont work with a 440 as well, it is the same thing just with a different dongle isnt it?

Hey everybody! A friend who has both the v2 and the 440 tells me that the cable interface is a little different. I just assumed that they were interchangeable. Sunbear, can you confirm for sure that the dongle will work with both cards?

i have both a v2 and a 440....the dongle IS NOT the same.  the width of the 440 is much greater than that of the v2 (the part of the dongle that actually clips
to the pcmcia card)

If he's doing 440 dongles, please add me to this list!

Or i guess I could just always get another dongle and hack of the shite that I don't need in the field

There are a batch of dongles being made for the V2 card that should be ready in a couple of weeks.

440 card folks- He'll make some of those once we figure out what the part # is for the 440 pin connector.

Hello all!!!!

Thanks so much for the great support. We have decided to take things up a notch due to demand, and we are going to be launching a website in the coming weeks so please stay tuned.

Pricing on the parts has increased slightly, so the price overall on the cable has risen by a few dollars from what they were 6 months ago. Pricing will be $52.00 including shipping - these cables are sturdy, high quality, and i've been using mine for about a year now and it is really a great cable. As you will all see from others who posted here - hzgone, caymanreview, and others, i really appreciate the good feedback. We are happy and committed to delivering a high quality product that will last

All cables will come with a 1 year limited warranty ...

We plan to release a cable for the vx440 in the coming weeks as we are researching supply for the correct parts, as the connector is slightly different from the v2. Our engineering team is working on it, so stay tuned for that as well.

Thanks frank for organizing this thread. I have many emails from some of you here requesting the cables, and I will have payment details set up as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance,
Ian Stone

If you haven't already emailed Ian with your choice of cable please do so now. As previously stated, the V2's are almost ready. If you want one for the 440, please email him as well so they can gauge how many they will need to make.Thanks.

FYI: All cables will be warranteed - this includes any cables sold prior to this point. Warranty is 1yr parts/labor.
We stand proudly behind these cables.

Adam,
Please send me an email :
Ian@customconnects.com

For a slight fee (parts+labor) we could easily modify the cable you have right now to have the headphone out.

Plans for headphone jacks are still in the works, but if you email me I can work on a price quote for you - nothing too expensive.
OR: you can definitely trade w/ someone once they are stocked and available...

thanks,
ian stone
