Topic: Adobe Audition 2.0 Minimum PC Requirements?

I just got a copy of Audition 2.0.  My PC has an AMD 1.4Ghz processor and 512MB RAM which are barely the minimum requirements.  I'm currently running Cool Edit Pro 2.0 which works ok, but it takes awhile to normalize a 2 hour .wav, save the file, etc....

If I install Audition, will it be worth my while, or will it run so poorly I should stick with CEP until I get a new PC?

I could also just install Audition and see how it runs.  If it runs like crap, I can uninstall it. I'm just wondering if anyone has some advice to save me some time.

Nevermind... Per Wikipedia my processor does not support SSE:

SSE (Streaming SIMD Extensions) is a SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data) instruction set designed by Intel and introduced in 1999 in their Pentium III series processors as a reply to AMD's 3DNow! (which had debuted a year earlier).

It was originally known as KNI for Katmai New Instructions (Katmai was the code name for the Pentium III). During the Katmai project Intel was looking to distinguish it from their earlier product line, particularly their flagship Pentium II. AMD eventually added support for SSE instructions, starting with its Athlon XP processor.

....I only have an Athlon, which is the generation before the Athlon XP.  Damn, no Audition 2.0 for me until I upgrade to a better PC.
