Fixing my moron mistake
« on: September 18, 2006, 09:39:48 AM »
so yesterday, at austin city limits, after about half the damien marley set i realized that the rolloff was turned on for just the left channel.

so what do i do to fix this?  just roll it off in wavelab?  what is the default rolloff on the 722 so i can match it for the other channel?

you can go into your settings on the 722 and see what it is set to.  i think the default is 8db @ 40hz or something like that.

If it's that low I'd be willing to bet that you'd have a hard time noticing the difference between channels in a normal playback environment and matching the rolloff with the other channel will just zapp what you have left in that range.

well i'll check the setting.  i might just leave it alone if it doesn't sound too bad, but i'll have to give it a listen later tonight

Why not "roll it back on" in post on the affected channel instead of rolling it off on the other?

id apply the exact same cutoff to the other channel and then add more bass to them both

i have to look at the 722 when i get home to see what it was set to.  i don't know how it got engaged, but only one channel got engaged.  must have been when i was turning on the phantom and i didn't notice.  oh well....

dood, you need to learn the quick phantom on thing:

Front Panel button shortcuts:

Input 1 Phantom Power:

Press Sine Wave+Menu Button

Input 2 Phantom Power:

Press Sine Wave+HDD Button

but if youre borrowing it from zee, then you may not have that shortcut card

why dont you just buy it off of him?

and BTW, im getting psyched for the v 2.0 firmware ;D
