Newbie help...
« on: April 01, 2005, 08:54:33 PM »
Okay so my friends are playing a gig at a party tomorrow and I want to record it. I have a PC w/ a 9 gig HD, win xp, but its not really that fast. I am going to remove everything from the computer as it will be strictly for recording.

I have a Soundblaster 5.1 audio card laying around that I am gunna put in there. The guitar, bass, and keys are all going to a PA system. The PA has an audio out, and my question is, can I pull that audio from the PA to my PC? For the drums, I was thining of setting up a mic.

My soundcard has a mic in and a line-in. Would that be sufficient for recording? Or would it not even be worth my time? IM not looking for anything professional or anything, just a rig to get some recordings. Also, what software would you recommend??
