R-09 unwanted mic attenuation
« on: September 06, 2006, 08:47:54 AM »
Hi folks, de-lurking to ask a question of R-09 users.

I've had my R-09 for 3 months and I'm pleased with it's performance.  Yesterday I noticed that even with the recording input up to 30 (max), I could not get the recording to overload.  I know I used to use the unit in the 5-15 input range because 30 would be too much.  I thought I might have enable some software attentuation but I've been unable to find any such config option.  This appears to be independant of mic input type - either the built-ins or my AT822.  Plug-in power and record monitoring are both off.

Any ideas?

Have you tried it with the Mic Gain switch on the back of the unit set to High?

What is the emoticon for "embarrased"?  Who knew there was a back to this thing?

Thanks a bunch.
