« on: October 26, 2005, 08:29:46 PM »
I'v been looking for a good single point stereo mic and
came across this mic at Sound Pros.
Is anyone have any info on the quality,  reliability of this mic.
It looks like a cool design.
Thanks for any help,

The NT4 is quite the shitty mic for taping, cool design though.  The frequency response rolls off by more than 10db starting a 10khz.  Not even in near-field PA taping would this be desirable.  For a single point stereo mic have you considered a used LSD-2?

peace, chris

I have a fair amount of time with one.  It is an excellent single point stereo mic, but just not for audience taping.  Requires a lot of eq if you're far from the source.  I assume that's what you want a mic for since you're at TS.COM rather than elsewhere.

If it happens that you're looking for something for more studio-like use, or to set up in front of a singer-songwriter type or small accoustic group, the NT4 is a nice choice and bargain for close mic.  Reliability is fine.

If you still decide to get one, you can get them on ebay for around $230 new.  I believe that's what I paid for mine a couple years ago.
Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

What would be the best stealth mic (under a $1,000) to record a concert in a beg venue like Madison Square Garden in NY from the audience.  And where are the best seats or area to record?
