Topic: What would I call this stereo config?

I've got a setup with my mics that works real nice with my mounts and is easy to setup quick.

The angle is 90deg, and the spacing is about 27cm... would this be like a modified DIN or NOS? Think it would sound nice with km184's?

Who cares what you call it.  I doubt I have ever run exactly at 20cm, or 30cm.  I think it would start to sound a little sloppy with km184s though.  My 140s hate NOS and love DIN!

Really, it is pretty close to NOS, which is 90 degrees, 30cm.   I ran NOS with my km184s alot and really liked it as a pattern for them.

As an aside:  I also ran my km184s alot with a modified NOS pattern with 30cm spacing and 75-80 degrees separation in poorer sounding rooms.  A good solution when you might want hypers but are stuck with the fixed cards.  The smaller angle takes out more of the room boom/reverb and gives you a better audio signal:crowd noise ratio since you are more direct on the stacks.  But the larger NOS spacing still works to preserve the soundfield and stereo separation, which gets diminished with the smaller angle.
