Sony Soundforge 7.0 users (tracking help needed)>>>

I got a question for you.

I've been using SF for fades and volume and CDWave for splits.  Well, i'm trying to figure out how to split the files in SF today.  Do I use markers or regions to do that.  I tried extracting the regions and when I opened the file in WinAmp, nothing would play.  The files were there, but no music.

 ???

Drop Markers in to place, convert Markers to Regions, and then extract regions. I'm not in front of it now and its off the top of my head, but that should do it. You gotta drop the first marker at the beginning of the large wav file and one at the end in order to capture all the files once split. Else you miss the first and last track.
I don't know just where I'm going
But I'm gonna try for the kingdom, if I can

Yep, exactly what Martin said!  Drop Markers at the very beginning and very end, plus wherever you want a new track to start.
I also don't have it in front of me, but IIRC the process goes:  Special> Regions List> Convert Markers to Regions
That should only take a second, then 'Extract Regions' should be under Tools.

I got it know.  I had edited each marker individually and changed it to a region instead of "converting markers to regions"

thanks for your help guys
