Title: Another "what went wrong" question-- My Morning Jacket sample
Post by: travelinbeat on July 27, 2015, 02:03:42 PM
Busman BSC1-K1's (cardiod) at ~12inches separation, 90 degrees > Naiant Littlebox 1.5 > R-09HR at 24bit/96kHz

There's static all throughout the recording in both channels.  The only thing I'm guessing is that maybe the Littlebox didn't like the (fully charged) rechargable 9V that I had in it (PowerEx Imedion 9.6V, 230mAh).  I would guess loose connection had it only been in one channel, but the static is happening in both channels at the same time.

Any guesses? Thanks in advance!

(PS: On a whim, I ran a whole second rig [CA-14's (Omni's) > Church ST-9100 > Edirol R09-HR @ 24/96], that recording came out just fine, so I still have a nice capture even though I fear my Cardiod source may be garbage)

As far as when it happens it definitely sounds like peaking of some sort caused by the low freq energy from the kick.  Doesn't really SOUND like peaking to me though. Sound more like loose connection noise. Hmm
