Good DVD Audio Ripper?
« on: August 20, 2004, 05:30:33 AM »
I have some shows on DVD that I would like to rip the audio for my iPod. <grandpa voice>When I was younger I would DVD Audio out into my soundcard </grandpa voice>. I see lots of stuff out there: ImToo,Xilisoft, DVDtox, and one well named "DVD Audio Ripper".

Anyone out there have any experience with these (or better) programs? Anything I should avoid as far as programs or methods?

Thanks for the help....

foobar2000 has a dvd audio decoder plugin -- http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdadecoder/

Let's you play a dvd audio disk/audio_ts file in foobar2000 or convert the disk's tracks/etc. to flac.  It also interfaces with online content databases to properly tag your files when appropriate.

It's tagging feature and free "price tag" distinguish this offering from dvd audio extractor for me.  Even though I bought the dvd audio extractor license, I now use foobar2000 for my dvd audio ripping needs.

DVD audio extractor works well but so does DVD Decrypter.  It will do a straight demux of the audio and video.
