Finally, temporarily done with home system!
« on: April 21, 2004, 05:24:38 PM »
Well, its taken a while, but I've settled on a  playback system for a while:

Panasonic POS CD/DVD that im using just as a transport > Bel Canto DAC 1.1 > AMC CVT 1030 Tube Pre >  Belles 150A Power Amp > MIT interconnects > Magnepan 10.1 QR's

sorry dont know what happened- there was supposed to be more to that.  ive never gotten such light and airy sound out of a system.  this really makes female vocals sing.  i coudnt be more pleased.

I was about to say...

Glad to hear you've got it worked out, though.  A little tabasco diluted and spread around those cables will keep cats/dogs/babies away from them FWIW.

tabasco is weak! get som habaneros and grind them up in yer coffee grinder add some water and then watch them stay away. I say this because I tried tabasco on the rug that m dog was chewing when she was a puppy, she thought it was a treat.
the show is over go home please.

so you're liking the Bel Canto?
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

Ditto--you liking the AMC tube preamp?

With all you've got it matched with, you're giving it a better home than I ever did.

i LOVE that tube pre.  I've got the telefunken tubes in there now.  mmmmm so sweet.  between the warmth of that tube, the clarity of that dac, whew such a beautiful system.  i couldnt be happier.  wait yes i could- a center channel a sub, 2 rears and 2 middles.
