Topic: Burning software for XP

I'm going to convert one of my machines to XP, was wondering what software folks are using to burn CD's with.

Audio CDs, it's all about Feurio!. I use it, EAC, and Nero for everything.
Sleazy CD creator BLOWS! AVOID IT!

Some software only comes packaged with your burner, though...
For audio, Feurio! is the way to go. Bam.

i use nero 5.5 exclusively for everything, data, audio, vcd, and it gives me no problems

well, I don't know about Easy CD Creator 5, but 4 was just yucky

it was awkward to use and my CDs were f'd up half the time

Nero is much more professional

People bitch beacause you have to set the gaps each time. Sure it's kind of a pain. But it takes what 1 sec to do. I really like Nero. I also like feurio, but when I got my newest burner it was not supported by feurio so I got used to Nero.

my new one came with nero and I got used to it.  A lot of options and it does VCDs too.

I've posted this before but don't remember where exactly.  IME, Sleazy CD Creator stinks.  SCDC has introduced artifacts into my audio recordings in 1, yes one [1], generation.  For data discs it's probably not too bad, but for audio it has caused me plenty of problems.  Keep in mind this was SCDC 4, not the latest and greatest.

My general feeling toward SCDC and some other popular software is that they compromise quality in return for faster time-to-market because their primarily uneducated user-base doesn't know any better (and will use whatever software comes installed on the machine).

Cool...thanks for the info.  I've been running Win98Se up until now, need to convert over to XP.  I've been using Nero to burn with and EAC to rip...look slik eI can keep the same stuff.
