Just got some tapes from ebay and the seller said they were Maxell HS-4/90s tapes. The ones I got were sealed, but no indication they are Maxell or 90m tapes. They just look like generic tapes. Anyone seen this before?
Anyone think I got taken? :) it was only $10 for 10 tapes, so its no big deal. I just don't want to use 120m tapes in my DAT.

Does this sound familar with anyone?

These are unlabelled Maxells that were purchased through Terrapin Tapes
a few years ago. It was part of a case, and they included Blank Maxell
J-cards with them (on the side.) I will be happy to send you the
J-Cards, or if you don't believe me, just send them back and I will refund your
money minus shipping.
You can do a search for unlableled maxell dats to find more information
about these type of cartridges that Terrapin used to sell.

I used unlabeled maxells for a lot of shows. Never had a problem with them. At the time, if you hold the case of an unlabeled DAT next to a labeled DAT, you can see the exact textures and cosmetic features of the labeled product. Only apparent difference was the missing print.
