Built-in mixer with audio processing including EQ, low-cut filter, compressor, limiter, auto gain control, noise gate and more
Hope the "and more" is up to 100 mS delay.... with two channels and a stereo mix, it would be useful for a live matrix.

Hopefully it doesn't have the noise issues the X8 has!

Here's a quote from the comments on a video on this device -
I finally got an answer from Tascam about the ultrasonic issue on X8.
"Thank you for your interest in Tascam products.
This was a problem in a few early production units. The problem has been fixed.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best Regards,
Tascam Tech Support"

looks interesting. It would be very cool if they made the on-board mics removable.

Listed by B&H at $369 - but the X8 is only $389 at the moment! You'd have to be keen on the smaller size to buy it instead of its big brother (assuming the RF noise issue with the big brother really has been fixed).

Its a shame. Its the only thing keeping me from buying it. I do love the size though. Contemplating..... :headphones:

The pricing and features compared to the X8 is a bit strange.
wonder if we will see a drop to $299 quite soon.
