CA-11 tie clips
« on: April 16, 2025, 01:16:04 AM »
Recently I ordered some CA-11 mics and they came with a pair of tie clips (pictured), but I cannot fathom how to affix them to the microphones.

My initial thought was to push on the protruding pin in order to widen the hole, then insert the mic through that but I struggle to make the hole wide enough to fit. Widening beyond the point where the pin touches the clip teeth seems excessive and potentially damaging. The cable can be wedged into the hole but this is unstable and seems liable to cause damage the internal wires.

Has anyone else used these clips? Are they even suitable for this mic? There is nothing like a part number on them but they look similar to the Shure tie clips.

I feel pretty stupid asking this but I guess it would be even stupider to be using the clips incorrectly or not at all.

Thanks in advance.

Try taking the caps off first. Push the pin until it fits over the mic body.

To protect the body paint and acoustically isolate a bit, you can cut a small section of soft plastic hose for in between.
