DC -> AC Inverter
« on: March 04, 2008, 10:45:15 PM »
So does anyone have any input on what the reality might be of running an inverter off battery power to feed an AC device?
I've heard of square wave problems..
Lots of tiny and cheap units out there nowadays too..

ProSine makes good ones.  Pure sine wave AC.  You get what you pay for on these.  Good luck, and sticker shock is high.

Thanks Mike. Spendiness seems a common theme alright.
Maybe I'll run this by some EE types I know too.

See a visual representation of how bad the mod sine wave units are:
