It's pretty easy because you solder the wires to the pins first, then insert the pins into the connector. Just make sure you order the proper pin extraction tool from LEMO if you go that route. This also makes re-termination very easy.

You can sorta see how this worked out.  I need to make a few more short jumpers and will fashion a proper mount for the cable head end.
