2 Apogee Mini-Me > USB > Laptop Possible?
« on: October 06, 2005, 03:18:55 PM »
Just curious. I'm figuring no, but I may be in a situation where there are 2 MiniMe's and I know Wavelab allows for multitrack recording.

Anybody even attempt this?

I've tried it; and I wasn't able to run two USB feeds to Wavelab simultaneously...or even, say, a signal from a VX Pocket V2 + a MME USB feed simultaneously (which I've also tried).

Could we say, install 2 seperate versions of wavelab? One in c:\wavelab_apogee and one in c:\wavelab_vxpocket for example, then run the 2 versions simultaneously?

I don't think that will work. You might try a multi-tracking program like Samplitude, Vegas, etc and assign each MMe to a stereo track. You need a program that can assign inputs to tracks from multiple drivers. Make sense? It's a long shot, but you never know! Good Luck!
I don't know just where I'm going
But I'm gonna try for the kingdom, if I can

not what you want to hear, but mac os x can do it.  core audio allows for multiple devices at one time

I haven't tried this, but have been meaning to... I think it would be great to run mics ->MME->USB and SBD->VXPocketV2 into the same lappy to mix down to a 2 channel matrix recording in post.  Let us know if you have any luck and when I get around to trying this I'll do the same.  I would imagine that two seperate instances of a recording app is the way to go.
