Hey everyone... I am thinking about trying out this new mic setup for a future concert an artist I record has in the works. I use the artist's mics that he lets me borrow and we were thinking about setting up an MXL pencil mic in front of the speakers, and then another mic... not sure if it is directional or omnidirectional (it is circular in shape, kinda like an old fashioned mic for studios)... anyways, put that mic in the crowd facing outwards to pick up the ambient noise of the crowd. We will plug all the mics into the external USB mixer and lower the mic volume on the crowd mic just enough to still pick up the applause. Does anyone have any suggestions on this setup? In my mind it sounds like it will work... but I would like a real taper's opinion because I am just really starting out and this will only be my 3rd recording. Thanks!
