uh..sure, but why use such a large connector as 4pin XLR ?

do you have the VR box already?  I can help you out w/this.  insturction wise, or build it for you.  either way.

Yes I already have the VR box and recentlypurchased two wally batts.I'll pwr the V3 with one side and I figure I'd just make a cable for the 5v out on the box. this should prevent one extra piece of gear like the 4aa jobby.  Thanx any help would be greatly appreciated.

radio shack
5v voltage regulator chip
follow the wireing directions on the back of the package.  its got 3 pins on it.  incoming power (9v in your case), outgoing power @ 5v and ground.  piece of cake.
that is already taken care of in the VR box.  If its output you need, and just a cable....then hack a usb cable.   there are 4 wires.  two are for power, two are for data.  you only need worry about the two for power.    its easy to google up that info.   Just have to know what to look for.  In this case, its "USB cable pin out" and you'll find everything you need to know.

Ok I found an old razor phone charger for the car. I took off the charger part without inspecting it first to see which is which. The USB mini is way too small for my POS multi meter so how can I find out which wire goes where. There is a white wire and a yellow one. If I hook it up to my mt with power on could I tell that way. If this gets anymore frustrating I'll just buy a cable from you Nick.
