im gonna start helping out the local jamband doing some sound and whatnot.
im gonna need some headphones to monitor the 2nd board that il be doing a board tape off of. so it will most likely be inside wherever they are playing and generally pretty loud.
and my budget is like 100-150$

i'd go with the etymotic er-6 earbuds, they sound good and have excellent isolation.

thats what i was thinking too, i had some peeps tell me that awhile back

Shure makes a similar model too. I have no experience w/ in-ear, but I have a pair of Sony 7506, and they would never do enough isolation for you.

The Etymotic 4s is one of the finest headphones you can buy. Not to mention, the highest isolation db rating of anything out there.
the plus there is that you will not need to crank up the volume and fry your ears in order to hear what you are doing.
otherwise, just pick out the best sealing cans for the money

I find their recomendations to be very helpfull, and you can email them w/questions. They are typicaly prompt to return a recomendation.

i recently bought some akg K271 studio headphones and i think they sound great. they are closed around the ear and provide a good amount of isolation - i have not tried them at a show, but they work great on planes. definatley a big set of headhones though, if that matters. i also sugest the headphone.com site, great prices and reviews. good luck.

I like headphone.com, but even better is the wealth of info at newbie-friendly www.head-fi.org (http://www.head-fi.org) Very friendly, like this forum.
