Info on AVID speakers?

Anyone know anything detailed or otherwise about Avid speakers? I saw some Avid 102a speakers for $25 a pair and was wondering if they were good... they look very solid and well made, and, of course, once I hear them (before buying) I will really know more, but any info before hand would be greatly appreciated... they are made in Rhode Island, and are from 1980, I believe...
