Title: ESA 9v 5400mah...
Post by: justink on January 19, 2007, 06:51:56 PM
finally got the adaptaplug cable going, and tested the batt out on my UA-5.

needless to say, it powered the mics on 48v phantom for excess of 7 hours.  that was good enough for me.  ;)

Sounds about right... When I had my UA-5 that is about what I got.... I was amazed when moving to the R-4 that the recording time did not really change that much when running 4 mics with phantom.  I still get over 6 hours.

yup, i'm not sure what the UA-5 draws (900mah maybe?), but people were saying 4.5-5.5 hours.  so i was pleasently surprised, and like it.

can i use the same batt to run the R-4 if i choose to purchase one?

Yep... The same battery and the same wire (negative tip I think it is).  That is for the regular R4.... Not sure about the R4pro.

Not surprising.  The 9v DVD batteries are drying up everywhere and, when you actually can find them, much more expensive than they used to be.

sounds like a decent option once the dvd batts dry up.  but then i'd have to have new cables made...   :P
