Title: Power Options for DC 12V Hirose Input
Post by: ricola on September 23, 2015, 03:38:36 PM
Hey folks,
I'm still searching for different ways to power my new Zoom F8 with extern 12V DC Power.

A friend of mine gave me this Module which have a 4pin Male Hirose connector:

Now I bought a NP-F 970 Battery at amazon:
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00T7YZ42E?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00

My question:
I saw that many tapers use this combo for powering their sound devices 7xx. How long this single NP-F970 (7800mAh) battery is running for recording 2 different stereo channels (in summary 4 phantom powered xlr outputs, 1/2 and 3/4)??
Any experiences??

Thanks so much for your replies!
Greetings from Germany
Ricola

I'm not sure if this would do the trick or not, but it's what I use to power my Tascam DR-680.

It has a tip that fits perfectly in the DR-680, so I didn't need a custom cable built.  However, my Sound Devices MixPre (that has a Hirose power connector) did require a custom solution.  I asked TS member Ted Gakidis (tgakidis) to create a custom cable that ran from the 9V Initial RB-270 DVD battery (listed below) to the MixPre.  Ted made a fantastic cable and it works like a charm.  Perhaps a similar solution can be crafted to run from the Naztech PB15000 to the Zoom F8?  Not really sure though...

I got the following cable from tgakidis - it works like a charm.  Ended up getting it with a straight hirose connector - the right angle connector would have to be ordered from France.

I'm looking for an external powering option for my Sound Devices 442 mixer and am considering the Naztech PB15000 Universal Power Bank.  All the comments on this battery pack seem to be very positive.  Is your price on a Single Right Angle Battery with Right Angle Bare Hirose 4 Pin connection still $50.00?
Thanks,
