Title: t tech as a trouble code for the DAP1????

I keep getting t tech when I try to play a tape.  It will play for a little bit then starts giving short drop outs.  The heads then stop and then it won't do anything.  It's a 98 deck so maybe it's the heads????? Doh! ???
