Ok, so I downloaded Gr8tful98's tape of NMAS at HOB in New Orleans. He is a newbie like myself and didn't know how to track it. So, I downloaded the show as two giant files(one for each set). So I start tracking the show last night using audacity and everything is going great, get the first 7 files tracked flawlessly. Stopped to go to sleep last night and saved project. Now I have resumed this project and am unable to save the tracks. After I select "export selection as mp3" and name the file it pops up with a little window that says "Unable to open target file". Does anyone know what has happend here? Or how I can fix it. Thanks, I have just put my first rig together and will go out to do my first taping at Haymaker Festival next weekend so this is the first tracking project I have undertaken. Help a newbie out! I am doing this file in mp3 because my computer is sucking real ass right now and I tried to start this as a .wav and it took forever just to load it into audacity and eventually my computer just shutdown. I guess it over heated. Any input on this would be great.
Thanks,
Joe

I thought thats what people would say. So should I edit in audacity then track in CD Wave? Or does CD Wave have editing functions too!

no editing just tracking. so yea edit in whatever program you want. I use wavelab or soundforge. then track in cd wave. also you can save as flac in cd wave.
