Title: sbm1 or ad500e?

i now have a stock sbm1 and a 500e.  does anyone have any preferences for large arenas (MSG)??  i am running mg300>v2>???

i ran the 300s>V2>AD1000, as well as with a mod SBM.  i would definately go for the AD500.  that is a sweet combo for sure.

i would prefer the AD-500e to SBM-1...
however, i like SBM also...
but you just can't beat that Apogee sound...;)

i bought a 500e a few years ago and figured it to be a substantial upgrade over the SBM-1 i was running at the time...

mine came out of the Recording Studios of NIN and is signed by Trent Reznor...pretty cool convo piece in the TS...=)

in fact, i still have both the 500e and the SBM-1...as well as the current Mini Me...i should really get rid of some of this stuff...=)

run the Apogee brah...=)

I've never heard an a/d that can beat the apogee sound.  ever.

I would tend to agree on the apogee sounds. I frist ran a stock sbm-1 and then a MODSBM-1, and while I liked the MODSBM-1 a lot, the mini-me just kills it. The mini-me as a pre-amp/A/D really makes my tapes sound like I am there. Super clear, super phat low end, crystal clean highs and very, very warm

I played with an ad500e for particle's openening set last night, it rocks...better than the sbm mod or unmod IMHO!

for me I prefer a mod sbm-1 to an apogee 500e, but the 500e to the stock sbm-1
