probly a stupid question but i'm hitting a clip right off the bat and there isn't one in either source, at this point anyway, not even close. muting either track eliminates the clip. this is within the first minute also. any ideas outside of simply dropping the gain on the master?

stupid question #2.

got it pretty much straightened out until i hit the last track. there's nearly a 5 second difference between the 2 sources. i cut and nudged up to there just fine and it's only a 40 or min set. this is what i end up with if i align the end of the track, same difference if i reverse it. any suggestions on fixing this?

Instead of matching up the tracks I would stretch one file to match with the other.

I'm using Windows 7 now and I can get Wavelab to run, so I can't say how to do it, exactly.

Basically I would find a loud spot at the beginning and one at the end. Then cut off the beginning and end of each source. Then make them the same time. After than you can reattach the beginning and ending of the recording. Does that make sense?

yep makes sense, and was the only way i could see to get it done. also the way i was dreading. 

i'm curious as to why all the rest of the tracks came out fine and only this last one didn't? the only thing i can think is that the aud was a dae, since that was the only difference between the 2(outside of 1 being a sbd of course).

that didn't work well at first. turns out there was a glitch in the aud source were those 5 sec were missing. didn't check the disc but it either happened during the recording or the extraction? i did stretch remaining 9 minutes or so of the track instead of splitting and nudging since it was still off a bit.

the missing aud section left that part a little hollow sounding so i copied that section from the sbd and that filled it up better since there is a 1.5db difference between that and the original. not grate, but better. maybe with a longer clip and longer fades it'll be closer?
