dual recordings with my laptop?
« on: April 27, 2004, 03:26:37 AM »
ok, heres what i have

il be running my source into myy picturebook via my firewire 410 @ 24/96

i also have a vx pocket v2, would i be able to take another signal (anywhere from 16/44.1 to 24/48) into my vx pocket and record both at the same time with 2 different softwares?

i have heard of someone doing this with 2 vx pockets, but would it be feasible with this setup? i know i will definantly have to increase my ram, im still looking for that 256mb upgrade for the picturebook, but i dont seem to think il be finding it

i dont have my 410 in my hands to test yet, but this week i will, and i will be testing away

im just looking for ways to use the vx pocket, so i dont start thinking about selling it, i would LOVE to be able to patch from someone else while running myy own gear and end up with 2 sources at the end of the night

Dustin

cayman, what will be your full rig?
the Firewire 410 can take 2 analog AND a s/pdif input simultaneously.
ie, run your mics/pre into the firewire 410 and a s/pdif patch from someone else

Could you use NTrack & cut down on the number of recording apps?
Governor Jim McGreevey was equally disturbed about the upcoming population increase. "New Jersey cannot support all of these wookies," he said. "For starters, we don't have nearly enough kindbud. At best, we can muster up a Q.P. of some beasties, but we've not a dime-bag more."

im running 480's > 410 > laptop for now

so i can take my mics and also an extra s/pfif signal at once?

what kind of mix options would i have?

could i use cool edit pro or something similar and do a 4 track recording so i didnt have to mix on the fly

yep, it should save as 4 seperate mono files that you pan/mix down later.
