cool comp. +T. ifg it werent for the Avantones having that SSSSS sound on vocals, I would say the two rigs are pretty neck and neck.

BTW, Busman mods those CK-1's FWIW, I would LOVE to hear them modded and against a pair of well known mics. Plus, the CK-1's are TINY. They could EASILy be stealthed IMO.....

Someone could have a VERY SWEET and economical rig once those were modded, and run them on a single shockmount to get the most out of them. That would be one cheap and great sounding setup in a VERY small package. I have never heard the CK1's modded tho, so I really cant say anything yet for sure.......

Bean, I would not call the CK-1s tiny. They are much bigger than the SP-C4s. I would say they are closer to the size of the AKG 480s. The CK-1s are awesome mics for the money and you most definitly not be disappointed with this mic.

some, if not all, of that "sssss" noise is the way Mike sings. I've noticed it on a lot of DTB recordings. It's either his emphasis on certain notes or the mics the band uses.

ahh, that makes sense. then those ck1's are THE SHIT for the price then. I didnt hear it on the schoeps source tho.....I am WITHOUT A DOUBT getting those mod ck1's eventually then Wonder how theyd sound thru a 722

I work just to buy more gear, seriously My health insurance is PAID by my employer every month. I dont have to pay a DIME for that

I just ahve to pay co-pays for the million doctor visits Ive had this year, and my System Interlock that I had to have put on my car for 2 DUI's And my car insurance! And I def help my parents out with bills and whatnot. But MOST of my $$ goes towards gear I JUST went back to work this past monday, and Im already thinking of all of the gear Im going to buy once I start getting consecutive paychecks Its nice not wasting all of my money on alcohol and drugs anymore. I actually have money to go out and eat and to buy more gear. I can def deal with this thing we call sobriety And on top of that, I feel better than I have since I was 12 yrs old and not on drugs
